Recreational QuickStart Tennis Workshop to be held on January 21

The Town of Hamburg Recreation Department will be hosting a Recreational QuickStart Tennis (QST) Workshop on Thursday, January 21 from 6:00-9:30 P.M. at Frontier High School.  The Workshop will take place in the Back Gym and will be conducted by Michelle Skelley.  Skelley is the Head Professional at Wanakah Country Club in Hamburg, and is a USTA National Trainer and QST Specialist.  She has been at the forefront of the USTA's nationwide movement to establish the QST format as the primary method for teaching tennis to youth.

The Recreational QST Workshop is a 3.5-hour interactive training that provides an overview of the QST format.  The Workshop is open to tennis teachers, recreational coaches, parents, volunteers, and anyone interested in learning about QST.  It will cover the QST format, court setup, play situations and games, delivery of the QST Recreational Practice Plans, organizing and coaching a team match, and characteristics of a good coach.  All attends will receive the QST Recreational Practice Plans and a Participant Manual.
