USTA Eastern/BNCTA Partner with Niagara Falls Schools/Boys and Girls Club
Hundreds of kids in Niagara Falls received their first introduction to tennis thanks to the collaborative work of the USTA Eastern, Buffalo Niagara Community Tennis Association (BNCTA), the Niagara Falls City Schools, and the Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club.  Clinician Shawna Macfarlane conducted several training sessions for Niagara Falls Physical Education Teachers, as well as staff from the Boys and Girls Club and the Niagara County Youth Bureau.  USTA Eastern donated racquets, balls, and portable nets to each building in the district.  The equipment is being used for both Physical Education tennis units, and for after school programs offered at each building by the Boys and Girls Club.  Shawna Macfarlane and her staff from the Niagara Falls Country Club visit sites regularly to assist with games and activities.  Programming continues during the summer at the Boys and Girls Club camp sites and through local municipalities/Recreation Departments.  A Junior Team Tennis League is also conducted at Sportsplex Tennis Club during the fall and winter.
