Love Lavender Tennis Tournament

The Lancaster Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department hosted the 2014 Love Lavender Tennis Tournament on July 19 at Lancaster High School. The tennis tournament was a success and the event raised over $300. All of the proceeds from the tournament were donated to Hospice's Life Transitions Center of WNY. The tournament began with an upbeat speech from a hospice representative. She got the ball rolling. We beat out the rain and were able to play 4 matches. The tournament was played in a round robin doubles format, switching partners and opponents each round. New friendships were made, and future doubles partners were created.  This was a fun-filled day of playing tennis while also raising awareness for all cancers and supporting a good cause.
