Finger Lakes Tennis Fest

The Western Region was a proud sponsor of Finger Lakes Tennis Fest Weekend that took place May 4-6 in Auburn.  Auburn Community Tennis (ACT) Board Members and Volunteers organized a weekend full of tennis events and activities for kids and adults alike.

The weekend began with the ‘First Serve Party and Fundraiser’ at Tinker’s Guild on Friday night.  On Saturday afternoon, Central New York’s top USPTA professionals including Mike Henty, Steve Pekich, and Chuck Wiggins conducted a free 10 and Under Tennis clinic.  The weekend concluded with a full day of clinics on Sunday given by Luke Jensen, Syracuse University Women’s Tennis Coach and 1993 French Open Doubles Champion, and Shelley George, Syracuse University Women’s Tennis Associate Head Coach.  Clinics were offered for youth between ages 11-18, as well as beginner, intermediate, and advanced adult players.

Proceeds from the weekend will support year round programming offered by Auburn Community Tennis.  To learn more about ACT, visit their web site at www.auburntennis.com.

Finger Lakes Tennis Fest Weekend was also sponsored by Skaneateles Jewelry, Inc., Champions for Life, Balloons Restaurant, and Tinker’s Guild.
