Three Pro Circuit Events to be Held in the Western Region

Western Region Pro Circuit Events
The Western Region is proud to sponsor three USTA Pro Circuit events this summer. Volunteers are needed to help ensure the success of each tournament. Please consider helping out at one or more of these events, and please take advantage of the opportunity to see some great tennis right here in the Western Region.
The Sargent & Collins, LLP Women’s $10,000 Tennis Championships will take place at Miller Tennis Center in Williamsville from June 15-23. There will be a Wild Card Tournament June 7-9 at Miller Tennis Center. The entry deadline for the Wild Card Tournament is May 31. Admission is free throughout the Championships. This is the only Women’s Professional Event in Upstate New York, and it will include great singles and doubles play!!

The Linda Bogdan Memorial Futures Tournament will take place at Tennis Club of Rochester (TCR) beginning June 22-24 with a Qualifying Tournament that will determine the final eight singles players in the field (Main Draw).  Main Draw matches in singles and doubles begin June 25 and conclude on Sunday, June 30 with the Doubles Final scheduled for 11:00AM and the Singles Final to follow at 1:00PM.  The Wild Card Shootout Tournament is June 20th.  The winner of the Wild Card Shootout gets a spot in the Main Draw and the finalist gets a spot in the Qualifying Tournament. 
TCR will host a Kids’ Day as part of Semifinal Saturday on June 29.   A tennis carnival will take place from 3:00-6:00PM and include a 10 and Under Tennis clinic, on court activities, games, and free ice cream.  Youth ages 17 and under are invited to participate.  The singles semifinal matches will begin at 6:00PM. 
Volunteers are needed to assist in several areas throughout the tournament including transportation of players, sweeping of the clay courts, hospitality, and guest services.  Ball kids (ages 11 and up) are also needed.  In addition, TCR is looking for anyone interested in providing housing for one or more of the players in the main draw.  For information on housing a player(s), and/or volunteering, please contact Laura Penkitis at laura@tcr1886.com.  For more information on the Linda Bogdan Memorial Futures Tournament, please visit www.tcr1886.com
The Levene Gouldin & Thompson (LG&T) Tennis Challenger will take place July 13-21 at Recreation Park in Binghamton. USTA Member Appreciation Day is Monday, July 15. There are several other special events scheduled throughout the tournament. Visit www.binghamtonchallenger.com for more information.
Volunteers are needed for various tasks associated with the LG&T Tennis Challenger, including ticket sales, food service, and VIP events. Drivers are needed to transport the players from Recreation Park to their accommodations and back. Assistance is also needed with setup in advance of the tournament and to help clean up after the tournament is over. Those who volunteer for multiple shifts will receive a tournament pass. Please contact Rebecca Stollman, Volunteer Coordinator, at 607 765-2584, rlstollman@yahoo.com, or stollman@binghamton.edu
