RRTEA 10 and Under Tennis Camp
The River Rock Tennis and Education Association (RRTEA) 10 and Under Tennis Camp ended its 8-week summer program with a USTA Play Day on Friday, July 26 at Riverside Park in Buffalo. Prizes were provided to all of the participants, and pizza was served to all of the campers and their families.
Twenty-two youth from the neighborhood surrounding Riverside Park registered for the 10 and Under Tennis Camp. Maggie Ruszala, a USTA-trained 10 and Under Tennis Coach led the Camp for the first time this year. Assisting Coach Maggie were Courtney Fox, Joshua Fox, River Saxbury and Joshua Ruszala.
Scholarships were made possible through funding from USTA Eastern, Buffalo Niagara Community Tennis Association (BNCTA), New York State Senator Mark Grisanti, City of Buffalo Council member Joseph Golombek, James Grace Funeral Home, Believe in Black Rock, the Unknown Club, Black Rock Pharmacy, Dival Safety, Niemiec Builders Supply, Schmitt Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning, and Nuchereno and Nagel Attorneys at Law.
The fun and educational camp would not be possible without the tireless work and passion of River Rock Tennis and Education Association President Marsha Huard. Many thanks go out to the sponsors and supporters as RRTEA continues to build community and healthy families one racquet at a time.
