Western Region To Sponsor Three USTA Pro Circuit Events

The Western Region is proud to sponsor three USTA Pro Circuit events this summer. Volunteers are needed to help ensure the success of each tournament. Please consider helping out at one or more of these events, and please take advantage of the opportunity to see some great tennis right here in the Western Region.

The Sargent & Collins, LLP Women’s $10,000 Tennis Championships will take place at Miller Tennis Center in Amherst from June 25-July 1. All are invited to play and mingle with the Pro Circuit Players on Monday, June 25 from 6:00-8:00. This event is free but registration is required. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Bring the whole family! Please contact Miller Tennis Center at 716 632-8600 or millertenniscenter@verizon.net if you would like to attend the June 25th event, or if you are interested in helping with the Pro Circuit event.

The Linda Bogdan Memorial Futures Tournament will take place at Tennis Club of Rochester (TCR) from July 7-15. TCR will host a Kids’ Day as part of Semifinal Saturday on July 14. A tennis carnival will take place from 3:00-6:00PM and include a 10 and Under Tennis clinic, on court activities and games. Volunteers are needed to assist in several areas throughout the tournament including Kids’ Day, with transportation of players, sweeping of the clay courts, hospitality, and guest services. Ball kids (ages 11 and up) are also needed. In addition, TCR is looking for anyone interested in providing housing for one or more of the players in the main draw. For information on housing a player(s), and/or volunteering, please contact Stephanie Sauer at stephaniesheak@gmail.com.

The Levene Gouldin & Thompson (LG&T) Tennis Challenger will take place July 14-22 at Recreation Park in Binghamton. Volunteers are needed for various tasks associated with the LG&T Tennis Challenger, including ticket sales, food service, and VIP events. Drivers are needed to transport the players from Recreation Park to their accommodations and back. Assistance is also needed with setup in advance of the tournament and to help clean up after the tournament is over. Those who volunteer for multiple shifts will receive a tournament pass.
