June 10, 2011 02:58 PM
Nottingham High School in Syracuse hosted the Level 3 ‘Nottingham Tennis Junior Mixed Doubles Championships’ on Thursday, June 2. Boys’ Varsity Tennis Coach, Tim Colwell, organized the event and served as Tournament Director. This is the first sanctioned tournament ever hosted by Nottingham High School.

Despite the strong winds that gusted at times over 40 miles per hour, the tournament was a success, and there were a lot of great matches. In the end Justin D'Antonio and China Agnew won the tournament, while Josh Feldman and Tsengelen Nermunkh came in second.

Coach Colwell included a consolation draw, and as a result, all of the teams played at least three matches during the tournament.

The Western Region provided a small grant to Nottingham High School that helped defray the cost of prizes and refreshments for the participants.
