RRTEA QuickStart Tennis Camp

The River Rock Tennis and Education Association (RRTEA) QuickStart Tennis Camp for 5-11 year olds ended its 8-week program last week with a pizza party for players and their families. All participants were encouraged to maintain an hour of exercise each day with their parents as they were each presented with a Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA) certificate.

Alyson Hager received a gift certificate for perfect attendance and had a 32 shot rally with her assistant coach to highlight the evening. Grandparent George Biggie commented that "the camp was great fun for the kids and friendships were created among the parents of campers" as they met twice each week while their children participated in the camp.

Twenty four kids registered for the June-July camp that was coached by Colleen Sullivan. Assisting Coach Colleen were youth coaches Manar Ali along with Joshua and Courtney Fox.

The camp was sponsored by USTA Eastern, Buffalo Niagara Community Tennis Association (BNCTA), Senator Mark Grisanti, Legislator Maria Whyte, Councilmember Joseph Golombek, Coach Emily McAdoo, James Grace Funeral Home, Dearborn Community Association, Dival Safety, Black Rock Key Bank, Nuchereno & Nagel Attorneys At-Law, Unknown Club, and Pizza Bella. Their support is essential as the River Rock Tennis and Education Association continues to build community and healthy families one racquet at a time.
