Three USTA-sponsored Workshops Offered in the Buffalo Area

There will be three USTA-sponsored workshops offered in the Buffalo area this June.  These workshops are an excellent primer for new coaches as well as a valuable refresher course for those with teaching experience but who seek more current methods and effective tools.  All three workshops will be conducted by USTA National Trainer Michelle Skelley.
A QuickStart Tennis Workshop (QSTW) will take place on Saturday, June 18 from 8:30AM-12:00PM at the St. Francis High School Tennis Courts in Hamburg.  The cost is $5 and anyone interested in signing up should contact Tim Jerome at 716 646-5145 or tjerome@townofhamburgny.com by June 1. 
The Town of Amherst will host a QSTW on Tuesday, June 21 from 10:00AM-1:30PM at the Clearfield Community Center in Williamsville.  The cost is $10.  Please contact Angelo Lorenzo at 716 631-7132, ext. 7517 or alorenzo@amherst.ny.us by June 3 to register.

The Lancaster Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department is hosting a Recreational Coach Workshop (RCW) on Saturday, June 25 from 9:00AM-3:30PM at Lancaster High School.  The cost is $10, and lunch will be provided.  Please contact Host Site Director George Besch at 716 683-8652 or bgeorge18@yahoo.com by June 8 to sign up. 

All of these Workshops are interactive, and materials/handouts will be provided to all attendees.
The QSTW provides extensive coverage of the QuickStart Tennis (QST) play format including age appropriate play situations and games for 5-6 year olds, 7-8 year olds, & 9-10 year olds
Topics covered during the RCW include an overview of the QST play format, the Top 10 Games Every Coach Should Know, running effective team practices, large group management, and Instant Rally Progression for teaching strokes.
